Presidents

There have been five presidents since 1988, who follow one another at the head of the GC Petersberg, contributing, each in his way, to the development of the Club.

Spirit of enterprise is not enough. The secret to success lies in the fact of being the right person in the right place at the right time.

The founding president (1988-1990) - Joachim Dalsass

Joachim Dalsass, MEP and former provincial council, was appointed as first president of the GC Petersberg. Since many years he had chosen Monte San Pietro as his home and was therefore the so-called "native" president. One year and a half characterized by a very meticulous and well-designed management. Its merits are never forgotten.

The co-operative president (1990-1997) - Hartmann Gallmetzer

Thanks to the excellent work done by the previous administration, Hartmannm, together with its young and dynamic team,  including Werner Gramm in the office of Vice - could carry out his own project. During the seven years of Gallmetzer's administration, the Golf Club was enlarged and extended to 18 holes, the number of members reached 400, including young players as well.

An innovating president (1997-2000) - Erwin Kiem

He was President number three. Three as the years of his term, characterized by strict rules, innovations and the desire to transform the club from an amateur association to a real Sport Club. His decisions - of course - also led to internal tensions, but - ultimately - brought the Golf Club at the level it is today.

The leading president  (2000-2008) - Dieter Schnabel

In order to calm tensions which were, probably necessary and certainly very important during the past three years, the meeting of the Club chose to appoint as its chairman Dieter Schnabel - not only an excellent sportsman, but also a man of great experience. Three very important years for the Club. A period characterized by large investments and good contacts with other Golf Clubs in South Tyrol. Schnabel left behind a truly cutting edge Sport Center.

Generational change (2008-...) - Hubert Christof

If the first four presidents all belonged to the same generation, bank manager Dr. Christof Hubert really brought a generational change and a breath of fresh air. His succession was very smooth, also because Hubert Christof, allied to the owners - the family of entrepreneurs Thaler - seems to have all it takes to carry out the administration of the Club in the best interests of its sporting principles.
